In this class we spoke about the challenges that we face while drawing. They are – details, light and shadow, facial features, rendering, texture, perspective.
We understood the difference between sketch, draw and illustration.
SKETCH : Sketch is collecting date and getting information out. It captures things quickly. It is a quick impression of what to see.
DRAWING : Drawing is a detailed rendering.
ILLUSTRATION : Illustration is conveying an idea. It is a conceptual way to communicate life around.
GESTURE DRAWING :
Gesture drawing is trying to get the gestures right.
We drew various live sketches and also referred to quickposes.com that sets timer for sketches and we have to sketch them. It was a very helpful exercise to improve our sketching skills and get our proportions and perspective right.
