In this class we made our very first draft. For this one I used an inbuilt software on my laptop which is video editor. I didn’t do much for the first draft because I just wanted to get an idea about how it flows and how it looks after putting all the videos and pictures together. I played with the transitions, timings and also the effects. For the first draft I tried putting different royalty free sounds.

Video editor was a much easier software to use than premiere pro but on the other hand premiere pro offers more editing options than video editor.
In the second half of the class I focused on understanding premiere pro properly so that I could make my next draft on it. I referred to ‘KRISCOART’ which is a YouTube channel that has different videos for using this software right form the basics to advance. I also took help from some of my classmates in figuring out this software. I followed the tutorial that premiere pro provided to get a better understanding of the software. I finally started making my second draft on premiere pro. I think assembling the videos and the pictures was quite easy after making one draft. The only problem I faced now was to figure out what music to put where and more importantly finding royalty-free music.
In terms of the software, I wasn’t very happy to use premiere pro because it doesn’t have preview option so one actually has to put an effect, see if it looks good and if it doesn’t then change it which after a point was quite frustrating. Also because it was my first time using this software, it was super complicated to figure out what effects and transitions can or should be put. In some videos there were times in which I had two audios playing simultaneously but because of my background song I couldn’t hear the sound of my audio and adjusting this was again very complicated. I still managed to make my second draft on premiere pro. I think for a beginner like me it would’ve been better if I didn’t try doing everything that is complicated at once.
