In this class we worked on different layouts and made layouts that we could use for our project.
We understood how we can use different colours, fonts and layouts to make an initial format for the city we were choosing.
In our seminar class, we discussed some chapters from ‘INVISIBLE CITIES’. We listed down the features of the city so that it becomes easier for us to compare it to an already existing city and also becomes easier to choose what colours, fonts and layouts would be the best for those cities.
• Cities and Memory 1(Diomira) : a rich city, statues of all gods, bringing up the fancy characteristics of this city, physical traits of the city, multicoloured lamps, he talks about the winter settings in the city.
• Cities and Memory 2(Isidora) : staircases,music-art,science, dream city has changed, become a successful city, beginning to get chaotic,the perfection is dissolving(going in the past).
• Cities and the Dead 4(Argia) : deserted area, under the ground(it has earth instead of air), people are dead,buried city.
• Cities and the Sky 3(Thekla) : always under construction(like Mumbai),no time for anything to happen, close minded people,European city, unrealistic.
The various lens through which we saw the cities were natural elements,geographic location,people, culture, planning and structure, emotions, experiences, perception, history, events, diversity, uniqueness, etc.
