Mind mapping from the seminar was continued for discussion in studio. We had discussions with ma’am for choosing a particular element to go ahead with for our final project. I was very confused in the start because communication itself is such a vast topic. I was more inclined towards typography but packaging was something that I wanted to explore so I decided to go for packaging which would obviously include typography. Our next step was to make a mind map on packaging.
We had various discussions with ma’am about different type faces and different pages to follow for the same. Ma’am showed us these two books ‘Whatever you think,think the opposite’ and ‘The medium is the massage’ which had different usage of fonts, typography and layouts. These books barely had any text but was still to the point. I read both of these books after going home.
For packaging design, I referred to various books from the library to get a clearer idea of this field. These books inspired me a lot and definitely gave me a clearer idea of what packaging actually is. I even took some of my point from these books for my mind map B
